anisopoikilocytosis (an·iso·poi·ki·lo·cy·to·sis) (an-i”so-poi”kÄ-lo-si-to´sis) presence in the blood of erythrocytes of abnormal sizes and shapes
Erythrocytes are also known as red blood cells, erythrocytes, or red corpuscles. Then term erythron refers to all the erythrocytes and their precursors in the blood, bone marrow or at extramedullary sites. Erythrocytes transport oxygen and carbon dioxide between the lungs and all the tissues of the body. A circulating erythrocyte is little more than a container for hemoglobin

it's a medical term used to describe the appearance of red cells under a microscope - it means different sizes and shapes. by itself it doesnt really have a great deal of significance, and when it is present it generally represents an underlying problem, rather than being a major problem in itself.
