Which one is better and why?

ipod of course.
The main reason is itunes. itunes is a god. Its an awesome system for organizing, and playing music.

The iPod has more history, more market share, and a much bigger installed user base...for now.
Knowing Microsoft (which, whether you love them or hate them, you MUST admit they are one of the best marketing companies in the world...just like Disney), this will change. In several years, I look for the Zune to be the prevalent portable media player.
Frankly, I'd wait another year or so and then get a Zune.

I'd say iPod. It's been around for a while, so they've fixed all the bugs and have 3 different models and countless accessories plus iTunes and the store. Zune probably has a few bugs since it hasn't been out very long and there's only one model.

It depends, but i would say an ipod. Its very handy and is able to store lots of movies and songs.
