of me to report my husband for assault, i loved him very much but we had an argument the other night and i started throwing plates at him. I didnt hit him, but out of anger he threw a vase at me and it broke over my head, i wasnt injured except for a bruise, i am filing for divorce now, but should i report him for assault first?

you have no right at all to report him. you started it by throwing things at him. men should not hit women, that's true. but when a woman hits a man, or tries to, she opens herself up to being hit back. you brought this on yourself. was he supposed to just let you throw a bunch of plates at him and do nothing about it? it's not his fault that he has better aim than you. do not clog up the legal system because you were willing to dish it out, but not willing to take it. and you should go through with the divorce. it is obvious that you aren't mature enough to be married.

In order to report it you would either ....tell the truth in which case they might arrest both of you .... you thew dishes and missed but you still acted with intent to cause harm ..(that is a crime it is assault if you made contact ..actually hit him that would be battery).....he they would say acted in self defense but because he hit you they would arrest him also till they deciphered all the facts ......... ..in the end he would most likely get off because of the self defense position ... second you could lie but then under oath would have to lie again thus being the crime of perjury ... you are best to proceed with your action and not attempt to pursue this incident.....it doesn't matter who was right or wrong the law is just the facts ...

That's cumuppance. Don't throw things at someone if you don't want to get thrown at too. That's a fight. Has he ever hit you? Verbally or physically assulted you? If so, then yes, report him. If not, just put it down to marital differences. But whatever you do, tell the truth.

Just leave. This is a dysfunctional relationship and it is a toss-up as to who wil put whom in the hospital first. Even after divorce, you need to get counseling if you're throwing things at people just because you're mad.

Why dont you kiss and make up. You admitted you started the throwing and he got angry because of the throwing not because of the argument divorce is too easy .

it sounds like you were as much at fault as he was. I say no assault charges and just move on.
