aesthetics is that branch of philosophy which is concerned w/ beauty -- what it is, how to judge if some thing is beautiful a/o well-made (or not).
art is usually understood to be paintings, sculptures, pieces of music, movies, engravings. for the purposes of aesthetics, art usually includes architecture and all forms of creative writing as well
so, broadly speaking, you use the latter (aesthetics) to judge the former (art); that's the relation.

Art is the specific application of talent,, whereas aesthetics
apply to the artfulness of any given subject, not necessarily
limited to art. You could say, "I loved her art and aesthetically
it was presented beautifully in the gallery. Or, "a philosophical
aesthetic was at work here." Or, "the use of the subtle
aesthetics during his presentation was evident." Although
both art and aesthetics are included in many other arenas
these days, i.e. "The art of war," etc., they are usually
reserved for the refined sides of life.
