As much as I love the Cubs and will hope for a 95-97 win season, I realistcly see around an 85 win season, a couple of games short of the wild card. The team got better but is still not a contender

I see the Chicago Cubs winning 130 Games and losing 32 Games.

Is a promise from a Detroit fan about the Sox the same as a promise from a Yankee fan about the Red Sox?
The Cubs will finish this year probably around .500, so I go with 82 wins.

It depends on Butch Casualty & The Sidelined Kid, a.k.a. Kerry Wood & Mark Prior, (as Steve Rosenbloom calls them) don't get hurt before November and it's all over. They might win 40-45 games. Don't get upset. Those are for those two pitchers. Of course they are going to need help.
Although it's unclear if they'll get help from other pitchers or if the other pitchers will get help from them.
Now that Dusty Baker is gone I'll go with a split season, 81-81.

That Tiger guy is pure genius. The Cubs will win 75-80 games. They have yet to address their real need and that is pitching. If Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis were the answers, then what was the question?

come on....a true cubs fan knows that the cubs will never win and so expect nothing good....I say 78 wins...just enough to keep our hopes up until the first of August and then they blow a 20 game division lead to the surprisingly resurgent..... pirates....
Anyway...breaking my own thought process I think 90-95 could happen? Ouch they got me again!

86-76. This will put them in a position to come very close to winning the very mediocre NL-Central. The figure may go up if the team is very close to 1st near the trading deadline, and they pony up for either another starter or a closer. Dempster may be the biggest item that will hold them back
