President Bush during his trip to south American is promissing to spend millions of dollars fighting poverty and providing health care in Latin America? I work with clients here in the USA who can not find jobs, escape poverty or get good health care, is it fair to them?

No, it is not fair to your clients. I agree that, before we tackle the problems of the rest of the World, we should take care of our own country first. I am studying to be asocial worker and have already seen our over-burdened system first-hand.

No it is not fair to those people....but is it fair to Latin American and Caribbean residents when their economies are negatively affected BECAUSE of US farm subsidies?...NO

Life in the World is not fair and Americans better wake up and realize that you don't always get what you want. Bush won't do all of that anyway but America has historically run around like a fool whenever hints of Socialism or Communism come close to it and that wave is taking over Latin America again so expect even more focus on the region in an effort to combat the "commies".

The US has tons of problems of its own yet pretends that it is the greatest country and can deal with anything.

I say, stop the aid to Latin America and the Caribbean, stop meddling, solve your own issues AND get rid of those subsidies and tariffs that make competition unfair.

More importantly, look how much money they spent on the Iraq war. If they can find it for war, they MUST be able to find it for the good of the US citizens.

Latin America and the Caribbean don't face hardships just because of their "corrupt govts" like most uneducated Americans like to think. Any basic research would quickly expose the role the US has played in shaping the region and the unfair distribution of the wealth.

Latin American countries are in poverty because of how
their governments are run....not because of lack of
resources..all the monies anyone else pours in on them
will go for cultivating dope crops and making the already rich even richer....the poverty stricken people won't get an ounce of help, they will be exploited even more than they are now.

No it's not fair to the people here that are taxed to death
and their hard earned money is given so freely to
others who despise our very existence...

It's time this country stood up for the OPPRESSED
WITHIN
