It is a beautifully green state in the summer and the skiing is spectacular in the winter. Very friendly people. I must concede it is a haven for child molesters though. Bill O'Reilly fills in the blanks for me.

Without those tirades, I would suggest that America would know nothing of the politics of Vermont. The news of their unhappiness recently has not hit the news airwaves in the same way it has occupied Fox News, so I would say that America would still see Vermont as the skiing destination and home of good cheddar and maple syrup. Bill's tirades have successfully turned half the nation against a state...and he should be held responsible for this irresponsible act. Afterall, it is the UNITED States, right? And freedom of speech and assembly is still part of the constitution, right?

Bill Reilly is number #3 in the country so someone listens to his tirades...
maybe the spin does stop here.

the US is getting to be a sorry country. i am glad i won't be here much longer as i have had enough of people tearing our con try apart. let another country or countries take over being the number one super power...throw out that silly constitution and put in a leader who will use the iron fist instead of the liberal press ...cry baby's play with cry baby toys..and that's the mind of the average citizen...its dead from all that TV and movies that Americans laughingly call entrainment...

Pretty much liberal to libertarian state. Lots of New Yorkers who want to "get away" from the hubbub. The "anti-New Hampshire".

Skiing, maple syrup, and craft shows.

Ben & Jerry's baby!

Vermont's a great state with a progressive attitude. In 20 or 30 years the rest of the country will catch up to it.

My best friend just moved to Vermont about six months ago. I know the landscape is terrific and I can't wait to go this spring. He lives about sixty miles north of Burlington. We're hitting the Appalachian Trail up there. I already did all of PA and NJ. Man, I can't wait. Screw Bill "O". I know you guys are liberal, so what. Freedom of expression, right?

Vermont is the 2nd whitest state in the US. I find the hypocrisy of many liberals who live there appalling when they pretend to care about black Americans and live in a lily white atmosphere.

Vermont remains one of the whitest states in the United States. According to Census Bureau data for 2005, Vermont has a population that is 96.6 percent white (tied with Maine) as compared with a national figure of 3 of 4 persons being white. The Black population of Vermont is reported to be seven-tenths of one percent. Nonetheless, according to the Sentencing Project, Vermont ranks second only to Iowa in the rate of racial disparity in incarceration with African-Americans incarcerated at a rate 12.5 times more per 100,000 residents than whites.

It was the setting for Bob Newhart's show where he ran a B&B. Looked like a pretty place.

They're trying to impeach Bush.
