I have been talking with this guy from work for a few weeks now. He finally asked me out and we went on a date this past Saturday. The date was alright, but he is not what I want to be dating. He already called me on Sunday, How do I tell him that I’m not interested and still talk to him at work.

What's wrong with him? Is he a real freak or are you just being too picky. Don't turn down what could possibly be a wonderful life when there are people in the Far East who can't even get a date.

But the best way to tell him no is just to tell him that he's a nice guy and that you don't mean to hurt his feelings but that you don't think it will work out. But then the most important thing is to act like nothing ever happened! Be just as friendly as before - or demonstrate a little more friendliness - so that he won't feel too embarrassed and it will reopen the avenue of co-worker/friendship status. And start this immediately on the first day. Don't over-do it but say hi, smile, and chat. Throw in some silly banter. Some people will say that it's not your responsibility to worry about how he will feel. Bull. You're a human being and so is he, and there is nothing in this world more important or more precious than people. Doing this will help bring a sense of ease between you two. Good luck,

Thank him for the nice time, but tell him the truth - it's not the right time for you guys to be engaging in a relationship. If you want to lessen the blow, use work as the main reason - you don't want to date a co-worker, you want to be friends. He's a great guy, but it's just not clicking the way you want it to (in a relationship way).
If you lead him on it's just going to get worse, especially since you have to work together. I'd say be direct in a way that isn't mean, and move on from there. You can stop dating and just be co-workers/friends/have a professional relationship, whatever it is you're looking for at this point.

Prime example of why dating and working don't mix.
You just have to tell him, and hope he isn't too weird at work.
"You seem like a nice guy, but I don't feel a conection" is fine. What he does with it is his call.

Just tell him that you would prefer him more as a friend. Someone to confide in. Just tell him your true thoughts right off. Its always easier that way.

Say, "dude, let's just be friends! flattered you asked me out but i'm not interested."

honesty is the best policy. never lead them on one iota. and never go out with someone from work again.
