with the elections just around the corner, it's quite crazy... especially when you look at the list of candidates. it gives me a headache!!! with all the actors and actresses (and now, apparently, boxing stars) running for a seat in congress or what not, it makes me wonder what the country will be like at the end of the year...

but then again, we've always had such personalities as our officials, right? so far, we're surviving.

I'm not pro-arroyo per se, but i have to give it to their team... we've experiences quite a number of positive "all-time highs & lows" the past months... whether those were direct results of her activities and programs or not, they were still during her administration. :)

The political environment and stage have become a tirade of unqualified people that are popular and wealthy. Actors and actresses and even sports personalities came up vie for positions in the government. I am not saying though that they are not qualified but in fact, some are really intelligent and have the charisma and will to do change. Most though, are quite questionable especially with their agenda in running. The sad part is that they wanted to jump hoops and run for high positions right away without prior local government experinece. I really cannot believe that some of the well-known politicians constantly change their stances and beliefs. They were on one side all the time and a few months before the lection, they just change.
I guess that its the same all around the world. Obviousness is just the difference but its being practiced by politicians since the early times.

It's truly disappointing even just to think about it! We're ranked #1 in Asia or the whole world as the country with the most corrupt government. It seems like politics is just a business venture to most politicians. It sucks when they say that they want to be of service to their countrymen when it's apparent that they want to be treated like royalty.
