My husband and I are going to Greece this June. Does anyone know of a Greek Island that we should not miss. We have been to Santorini, Crete, Rhodes, Patmos, Mokonois (SP?) before would like to go to some different islands this time. We arrive in Athens and have a flight to Chania, Crete. We want to spend time visiting there as we love Crete. We also want to go to Santorini again even if it's only for a night or two. We have a total of 18 days. Thanks

I live in Chania. You have been here before. For sure you do not need any advice about this area. Will suggest to have island SAMOS visited, not only for the history or the monuments, but for nice places that you will love to stay, such as Pythagorion (the area where Pythagoras was) Samos town itself or Kokkari village. (You will love the world famous Samos moschat sweet wine)
Have a nice stay. And if you need any help from Chania area, just drop us a line.

I even have been to 3 40 Greek Islands and likewise some aspects on the mainland. Naxos has marvelous seashores (attempt Agia Anna) and the main city is energetic and eye-catching. it is likewise sufficiently vast to have a mountanous indoors which makes for a good couple of days in a motor vehicle. August could be very windy when you consider that there's a seasonal wind from the north noted as 'the meltemi'. numerous the above applies to Crete - yet do a touch study (Books = 'Lonely Planet' and 'tough handbook') when you consider that there are some aspects which arte overdeveloped.

From Santorini you could catch a ferry to Folegandros: small rocky island, but it has a very picturesque main village and the beaches are very nice.
Or from Creta you can go by ferry to Kythira - however, you will need a car on this island, as there are no buses available. However, it is green, beautiful sea, very clean, magnificent castle.

I lived in greece for 5 years. I've been to so many islands, although i can't remember the exact names (i was young).

I'm sorry i couldn't help you. But whatever island you'll go to, it'll be beautiful and you'll have an amazing experience.
