We are going for our 5th anniversary. When we were there before we reserved a basic room and got an upgrade upon arrival for really cheap. So I am wondering if it is best to have a reservation in advance or if it is better just to arrive and see what kind of last minute deal you can get. We are staying Tuesday thru Friday check out on Saturday (May 1 for 4 nights). I want to stay at New York New York or one of the hotels in that area. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience being a walk-in in Vegas. Thanks for any insite.

Always - always - alwasy book your hotel room in LV as far in advance as possible, and book the room through the hotel. This way you can keep looking for a better rate and cancel the first reservation when/if you if find a better deal. If you're gamblers the hotel can comp your room if you book through them, if you buy a package deal through someone else they can't.

I do have a couple of promo codes that are good until May 31st.
Luxor PC >PGET18<
LV Hilton PC >PSPRG7<
Mandalay Bay PV >PSH1Q70 - P2<

These are the sites I check for LV room rates
http://www.travelworm.com
http://www.i4vegas.com
http://www.tripres.com
http://www.vegas.com

The first two usually always have better rates than anyone else.

We go there 2-3 times a year. And we find we get better deals if we book ahead of time. It's always best just because you never know if there will be rooms available when you arrive.
That is normally if you want to stay in a specific hotel.
Now, if you are the adventurous type, then you can just show up and you may have to go to different hotels til you find one that has a room. Especially the calibur of New York New York. So if you want to be in a specific hotel, again book early.
Good luck and have fun.
We are moving there this summer, we love it so much.

If you are going to vegas you might want to scope out the hotels now, since just this weekend hotels on the strip went for 400+ a night because of what was going on there...Go to Hotel.com and they can assist you with the cheapest rate. My husband and I got the Aladin for 49.00 a night last month but couldn't repeat that deal right now for anything...especially around holidays...ie memorial day....or spring break, graduations....its all about timing in Vegas! You may also try State line too, the hotels are OK but they are less expensive and its only a 30 min drive to the heart of vegas! you can get a room by calling 1-800-fun-stop and they can arrange for you to get a room in Primm, its kindof fun there and we stop there and shop at the indoor outlets...love the shops! and the gambling is preey good too! Have fun and Happy Anniversary!

It would be wise to reserve one now. You never know what may be going on that week. My boyfriend and I considered traveling out there this week for spring break but had to rethink when we started looking a few months ago and all the decent hotels were booked (then I got a new job making it a nonissue anyway).

Reserve now! In May, Vegas is generally teeming with bachelor/bachelorette parties from all over the country. Knowing that you won't be exiled to the outskirts of town is probably preferrable to an upgrade.

By all means, wait until you get there. On a Tuesday, there will be almost no one staying at the hotels and they will be anxious to get guests. Chances are that you will be able to get a suite at any of the major hotels on the Strip for less than $60 per night. I did that same thing with my wife and we got a 2 bedroom suite at the MGM Grand (corner room with view of the Strip) for $45.

Have fun.

If you want to stay at one of the more popular hotels, like NYNY, you're better off reserving a room before you go. Otherwise, you're going to get stuck with whatever bottom of the barrel room in the city.

I would reserve it now, you don't want to have to stay in a nasty hotel just because you waited to long. We tried to do the same thing before and it took us all day to find a hotel to stay in and it was really expensive!

I'd make all my reservations well in advance. Then, every now and then I'd call the folks up and check to be sure that the reservations are still in effect.

Have fun!

I worked in a inn for ten years. Yikes! We commonly "approved" the quantity of the 1st evening (a minimum of) and in specific circumstances the quantity of the whole stay plus greater for incidentals. this would not show up as a "value" for the shopper, yet may well be removed from their obtainable credit. If their stability replaced into low and it replaced right into a debit/credit card, they may well be charged overdraft expenses by way of their economic employer. We viewed it THEIR undertaking. approved costs are no longer bumped off once you verify in and pay yet differently, the two. They "fall off" on their very very own after a series quantity of time that's desperate by way of your economic employer. human beings booking numerous rooms with one credit card have been commonly the 1st ones to get approved. If the authorization failed, we'd discard the reservation. people who noted as with questions approximately being charged have been approved quickly, too (we figured they have been worried because of the fact their card could desire to no longer conceal the greenback quantity they have been asking for to hold). The purpose replaced into to no longer carry any room for all people if we would not be assured charge. That replaced into the whole portion of soliciting for a credit card to commence with. On an extremely sluggish day as quickly as we had numerous rooms obtainable, we can't problem authorizing all people's card until they arrived and asked to income in with it.
