I mean, there almost looking like the 72-10 Bulls team. I would be ashamed to have that such season just to get upset by the Spurs, Heat, Pistons, or the Suns. Man you seen what they did to the Lakers last night? But everybody knows the playoffs is a whole new ball game, they just better look like a championship team comes May or June.

It would be awesome if they don't win the championship. With Mark Cuban as their owner, it's easy to hate them. The ideal situation would be for them to get upset by the Rockets. That would make my year.

Good question. It would not only be an embarrasment if Dallas does not win the championship, it would be a disgrace to themselves. What's the use of winning 60+, hell maybe even 70+ if you don't win the coveted title? This was the same case for the LA Lakers not just three years age, but in the late 90's. They won 65 games and were very dominant in the regular season. I think they became overconfident and they lost the first round of the playoffs to an aging Utah Jazz. That's not the shocker, the point is that they got SWEPT. SWEPT!!! A no. 1 seed getting swept by an eighth seed. That's what you call an embarrassment.
As for the Mavs, I think if they continue what they're doing and not underestimate their opponents, they will be fine. If destiny has written them down as the 2007 NBA champs, then so be it. Then again, many people write their own destiny's. I can bet my life tha about 20 other teams are thinking the same.

yeah be really bad if they didnt win considering how well theyre doing now

i wouldnt call it an embarrasment, but rather a huge disappointment from everyone involved with the mavs. i think during the regular season it comes to grit and determination as well as skill to pull of win streak after win streak despite the hazards of an 82 game season. playoffs - like u said - are a new ball game.

during the playoffs u start to see which players are for real, and which players are posing. playoffs dare u to take the big shot. because now in the playoffs, if u miss the game winner, ur team is down in the series. on the other hand, u miss a shot in the regular season, ur team notches upa loss, but its ok cause u get another chance the next game.

if anything, the Mavs dont have that go to guy in the clutch during the post season. last year dirk was disappointing, it will be very interesting to see whether he can transform into the clutch player they need during critical stages of a playoff series.

if the Mavs near the Bulls total and then lose in the post season, it will definitely be something that people will talk about years down the road.....

It DEFINITELY would be a disappointment if they didn't win the whole thing this year! That's why I think that even though that they downplay it, the winning streak is so important. During the course of this streak, the Mavs have had a collection of various types of victories, blow-outs,"ugly" wins, nail-biters, you name it. This is important for the psyche of the Mavs. That streak could've come to an end last night in a place that they LOST 29 of their last 31 including a streak stopper earlier this season. But what separates this team from last season and even the beginning of the season is that the Mavs are starting to know how to WIN. And the way that they're winning. The winning streak(s) are proof that they've bought into Avery Johnson's system.

How long did it take for Lincoln to become president of the US? ....I can't hear you...!

That is right, so what if they don't win...yeah dissapointment and sadness....! The best thing a human can do is fall and try again...!

So what good will you do one sefl, if you win and then just fall and not care any more...!

The MAVS are working on team responsability right now....how much can you trust your team mate. If the bench dropped some good hoops last nite...just wait for the playoffs...!

By the way, the western conference has nothing to envy from eastern conference....we are good, thank you...!

You just wish to be in the western conference to play with the most talented teams...Mavs, Suns, Spurs, Rockets, Nuggets(coming along).

Actually, let me rephrase that...you wish you lived in TEXAS...where all the playoff excitement awaits...!

the mavs will be tough in the playoffs this year, they look a lot like the 88 pistons team that lost 4-3 to the lakers and then swept them the following year...they will be well equiped with the necessary playoff experience to make another move upward...and most importantly they look injury free and peaking into the latter part of the season...

It will be an embarrassment....but it wont happen. The Mavs will win it all this year because at this point no team can take them out in a 7 game series. The sad part, however, is Dirk will most likely not win the MVP and Steve Nash could very well 3-peat.

They can't win. They'll never get beyond last year, when they had a two game lead in the finals and an 18-point lead in Game three and lost. Like the song from Oklahoma: "They've come about as far as they can go..."

see its the same thing though with the lakers a few years back they were on top of it all and then they lost their game ...so you never know what could happen with the mavs though every team has their ups and downs
