They would not allow a deformed child to live. You are discussing a movie, I suppose, so anything may happen in them. Lycurgus set up the laws of Sparta, and he wanted to breed supermen, so strong women and men were matched, and weak babies were slain when born. A helot hunchback could survive, for no one heeded them.
