Don,
When young girls dress like that -- well, some know what is going on but some are so naive to what a boy feels. And the parents? They are too busy with jobs/clubs/their own space that they fail to see harm until it happens. It would not be a sin to maybe tell on some of them...maybe the parents don't know...but, then , too maybe they do and just ignore it. Shame isn't it? A girl can leave home with a long skirt and roll up the waistband to make it as short as she wants. Everyone is living in the fast lane and forgetting what is most important in their lives --their children!

It's none of your business if their parents are OK with the way their daughters dress up, stop looking at 7th grade girls legs and start teaching science!
If you really care about teens you should be concerned about educational system and the depth of their knowledge not the length of their skirts.

I'm the same age as you and I was at a bar and some girl walked up and she looked good and looked of age in her early 20's so I asked if I could buy her a drink she said she couldn't because her dad was with her I said I'm sure your dad wouldn't mind she said she was 17 and I got all freaked out and said sorry and the bar tender ... my friend made fun of me so bad .... Thank god I didn't say anything wrong to her I would have called the cops on myself for that. I saw pix of my nieces going to their first prom and made up my mind I would never look at those young women who are any were near their age

Parents are not controlling their kids. All the parents working too much so they can buy all their *stuff* (big houses, lots of cars, etc), ignoring the kids, not wanting to upset the kids, wanting their kids to be their friends (ugh) and giving in to every demand out of guilt for not spending time with them. Kids will always want the latest fashion and right now it's skin. Doesn't mean we have to give in, though. IMHO Sorry for the rant, this issue really gets to me.

who cares? they want attention, so yes, call their mums and give them it, it won't stop them waring it and it'll just make you look like a right perv for noticing (i know you're not, but i bet you anything these girls will say that)! I'm 17, and i wear what i want cos it makes me feel good, not for other people, and you may think that's not appropriate, but i can tell you honestly, not trying to be rude, i don't care, why should i if you're just my teacher? Leave them alone, nothing you can say will make any difference except give them the satisfaction of knowing that they've got your attention. You're paid to teach them, so teach them.

Because their parents allow it. A lot of parents don't even know or don't take the time to find out that it's going on. These kids look so much older now than they did when I was growing up, not like children or teenagers at all, but like grown women. And then there is peer pressure and the desire to fit in and belong. It's sad, because that's how they become the victims of older men who prey on young girls.

pressure, thats it! in order to fit in,get attention, etc, they feel they have to compete. The cool kids dress and act like such and such,so they feel thats what they have to do in order to be liked, popular. Wasnt it like that for you in school? it was like that when I went to school, but unlike most,I liked being different, was never like everyone else. I do not allow my child to dress certain way's,I do let him express himself, but not to the point that his butt is hanging out, baggy is fine, but there are limit's.Parents need to parent sometimes a little more than they do:)

Their parents have no morals. There's no way my parents would've let me out of the house looking the way some girls do these days. They really look like 3 dollar hookers.

Kids mature faster these days. It's all the growth hormones they're giving animals that we eat. It's all in the name of profits.
All three of my sons were shaving in 7th grade.
