Buy an ipod, it has more quality than most mp3 players in the market and also more memory, don't buy a cellphone with mp3 player because the max memory that you are going to get with one is 512 MB which is 120 songs only. I would suggest the ipod nano 4 or 2GB, the 4GB can hold a 1,000 songs and pics and the 2GB 500 songs and your pics. I have had my video for more than a year and have had no problem with it. Hope this helps.

What are you looking for in terms of an iPod alternative? Do you want something that's only for playing songs? Does it have to play videos? What about how many songs it holds?

Without more information I really can't recommend something specific, but I would suggest looking at Creative's line of mp3 players or, if video function is very important to you, investing in a Cowon A2.
