FozzieBear: What it means is that there are many people who never seek to discover the actual facts, but rather are content to accept whatever is spoon fed to them by their chosen party.

There was a man once -his name was Pilate; he asked, "What IS truth?" Most men and women today ask that same question; thus, inherently more and more persons are either leaning toward or engaging in the neo-modern version of "truth." It's commonly referred to as: Moral Relativism and/or Political Correctness. Since the compass for the gaining of truth has been-in the main-altered to mean -"truth is whatever you believe it to be," your question is subtly answered by the question posed by Pilate.

Actual truth of course. If I could base my decisions on the merit of a man, who was always honest, then I would be able to give them some credit because they always told the truth no matter how hard it was to tell it.

The truth is most Americans can't handle the truth. For example when you mention that the US invaded Iraq to protect their petro-dollar you get a string of thumbs down from people that refuse to open their eyes.

The truth is always better but sometimes you have to go digging for it yourself.

Actual truth. Why would anyone prefer the appearance of truth? What does that even mean?

I demand truth ...

And I demand that public officials act as transparantly
as possible, which by-and-large means that you end
up with the appearance of truth.

However, in the long run, actual truth is the platinum
standard.

I think a lot of people are beginning to differentiate the lying spin from facts and honest opinions and that as compared to a year ago, for example, more people are chucking or upchucking the ideology.

Yea, Right. Try to get the Truth out of any of these bums. I look for what appears to be closest to it, and then fill in my own blanks.
