I heard a 800-watt power supply is required for a GF 8800GTX so I am thinking if I am using a GF 8800GTS 640MB, then I might have to buy a power supply that is around 700-watt. I am currently considering buying a cooler master iGreen 600-watt power supply, do I need to change? The following is my build:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2.60GHz

Motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition NVIDIA Socket AM2 ATX Motherboard

RAM: Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Memory (2 x 1024)

HDD: Seagate 160GB

Display crd: GF 8800GTS 640MB

Power supply: Cooler master iGreen 600-watt

Please advice, thanks!

I am running an eVGA 8800 GTS super-clocked, Core2Duo e6600, and 2GB of DDR2 667MHz on a 500 watt Ultra X-finity power supply. Seems to work good but you can't go wrong with more power, I plan to upgrade mine at later date to at least 700 watt.

I got the little brother of that card the 320mb version.
In the manual is says 450 watts minimun but is recommends 700 watts.
So I would advise you to get the 700 watts or higher.
More importantly for the future because you have a SLi motherboard which means you will be getting another card sometime in the future.

Thats a powerful monster you have there feed it more power.

A 600 watt power supply is pretty good enough to run any computer with more than enough power to supply it.

It is ok but with all that we hook up to our puters these days I would look at higher watt supplies...everything we hook up relies on the power supply ....unless usb or periprials that have their own power...go with a good solid power supply that offers enough wattage!

You should be good. A 600 should almost be enough to run a flux-cappacitor.
