I think it's coz he ran away from soul society and doesnt want to get discovered or something, plus he hasnt been a soul reaper for a long time also he is at the captain level which suggest he might take over one of the squads that were abondened by aizen, ichimauru or tousen.
He might also want to keep it a secret so that hes family doesnt get targeted coz usually enemies go after relatives and u know...

I think that Isshin left soul society because of a similar reason as Yurichi. Yurichi is a princes, had her place in soul society and was a high ranked officer, but didn't like the way things ran in soul society and left. Of curse after Isshin left, some things changed in his life. He found a woman and made her his wife, they had three kids and lived a happy life. But the same way Yurichi came back to somehow serve to the changed soul society, Isshin is going to take his captain place once more. Yes, Isshin is keeping his secret from Ichigo, but secretly he is been training him and is always aware of his where abouts. Remember he said to Kon that he never called him Ichigo when he was in Ichigos place. and when he gave Ichigo the amulet for protection. Isshin has known all along since the first time Ichigo became a shinigami and is probably getting ready to step back in the battle field.
He is also keeping is secret for the sake of his whole family. And he might not make a move until he know every one of the Kurosakis is safe when he does so. And the fact that he went to the human world has nothing to do with money. Because captains get paid more than vice captains and their subordinates. The higher the rank, the more paid they are. unlike with quinsis, money was not a problem.

This is an unanswered question because it hasn't been explained for real yet, and people can only guess.

My guess is that Ichigo's father was a strong Soul Reaper who, one day when he came to Earth, met with Ichigo's mother and fell in love. Ichigo's mother could probably see spirits (I think she saw the Grand Fisher for what he really was and saved Ichigo's life) He must have known Urahara (as they seem friends in the real world) and Urahara must have given him some kind of Gigai that made him able to be a normal human (Urahara experimented with different Gigai and that was another reason he was kicked out of Soul Society) so he lived as a normal human and had kids

As Ishida's dad pointed out, you can't make a living being a quincy.

Same applies with being a shinigami, no one is going to pay you for slicing a few hollows in half, because I doubt the Soul Society currency is going to be much help down there on Earth. He needs to support his children and family so he gave up on it to take care of Ichigo and the rest.

He didn't want Ichigo to get the wrong ideas is what I'm guessing, he probably didn't want Ichigo to repeat his past as a shinigami because it won't support him financially - but he doesn't tell him to stop because he wants him to be happy.

no longer squad 0. he's the former captain of squad 10, back while hitsugaiya grew to become right into a 4th or third seat of squad 10 and rangiku grew to become into nevertheless lieutenant. He lost his powers attempting to keep masaki (his spouse) from turning out to be a hollow using an incident. He had urahara make him a gigai and lived something of his existence in it. yet after his spouse died he ought to finally pass away the gigaj. desire i helped.

well i think is based on the fact that he did not want his family to be involved and also he has a big secret why he left. probably his wife saw spirirts too and that why she ran too ichago when she did for one thing. also he wants to be retired like the shop guy because he fell in love with someone from the human world
