Was the win over France due to luck or to the re-birth of a great team? If so, could they make it into the worldcpu

Very unlikely, but in sport, pretty much anything can happen.

All the same, you've got to fancy New Zealand - and if they slip up, Australia are the most likely beneficiaries.

Regardless of whether England's victory over France was luck or not they will not win the World Cup - or the 6 Nations. Ireland demolished England and are better at the moment so they are the best bet to do well in the Rugby World Cup between teams from the UK and Ireland.

The Kiwis are super strong right now and its like someone else said, only they can beat themselves. If someone gives me even odds for the Kiwis i'll put a month's salary on them to win it!!!

An England fan

I will be very suprised if any team in the World Cup could beat NZ. NZ seem to be the unstoppable force in Rugby. With their player's out of Super 14 duties in order to escape injury and prepare thouroughly for the Cup, I doubt they could be beaten. England probably won't even make the finals.

They should be able to make it out of their pool, along with South Africa. In the Quarter's they'll probably meet either Australia or Wales. If they manage to get past those teams (I doubt) They will most likely meet Ireland or NZ in the Semi's. That is where England's run will end. There will be no finals appearance in the 2007 RWC for England.

the all blacks are deserved favourites for the world cup followed by france (hosts) australia and south africa have a chance as they have good teams and have won the competition before and an outside bet would be ireland with world class players its always a possibility but inexperience may cost them

as for england they have had a false dawn against scotland
were beaten by italy in every area except goal kicking and the score got thumped by ireland and beat an unpredictable french side at home

in short england lack the time to prepare for the wc

The french were not on top form yesterday. It will take a much better performance from the english to beat the all blacks
the irish will be the best chance of a home nation winning the world cup but they will need to be performing at 200% to get past the kiwis

There is no doubt England are a good side but in the same time let's not forget that France also are and the tournament will be held in their land which is a massive advantage.

Thanx!

I know there's hype surrounding them before every World Cup but this time the only team who can beat NZ will be themselves. England should be able to progress to the Semi's but that's as far as they'll get i'm afraid.

It was just a fluke. France are the host nation and will win due to this.

Keep which title?

If you mean 6 Nations - they haven't got it
If you mean the World Cup - they haven't got a chance.

After you beat Scotland everyone was thinking "England are back!" then they got thrashed by Ireland. Same thing going on here. One victory does not make you world beaters.

Well considering they won't beat Wales at the Weekend, I guess the World Cup is a bit of a dream.
