I read a lot about the growing issue my countrymen overseas face. And through most of them, I find them more depicted as victims instead of heroes. They're always being harassed, they have families who no longer even recognize them, and the racial discrimination they often face is appaling.

Another question: Which countries do OFWs seem to face less discrimination and abuse? How about most discrimination?

I'm still curious because millions of Filipinos are living abroad and the different opinions (both from the pov of OFWs and the people of their host country) I've read about them are rather various.

I think they are heroes. Away from home. Culture shock and the discrimination they are facing is horrendous. As the Filipinos is a happy natured nation, they are still smiling and they try to appear happy, but I've seen them cry and it break my heart

Yes, because OFW remit their earning to the Philippines who slash an amount for their tax for the government coffer. But OFW must learn to return to the country for good.

I LOVE those guys!

There is no discrimination, here. They are wonderful to work with and talk to. I don't see any problems from here.
