I assume your wardrobe is in the ground floor next to the main door. This disoriented postman couldn't find the postbox so tried the door which was opened and thought he'd just place all the letters on your table . That's when he heard someone approaching. So in fright he took refuge in the wardrobe .
Now that he is already there please be kind and offer him / her a tea. Now you've got a new friend.
