Reboot your computer and as you see the BIOS screen at first boot up keep pressing the F8 key until you see the startup options and choose boot from last known good configuration...also you can go into safe mode and once your booted up there go into msconfig and you can troubleshoot from there.

Relax - the Moose is here to save the day..

Going to try two things for you today:

The first is reboot Windows with No error coding:

Restart your system - even if this mean holding down the power button.
On the reboot keep tapping F8 - ignore any error beeping
A new boot up menu will appear.
If your system has this option (most do) choice windows run Windows diagnostic tools (or similar). Your system will run a intentional crash while scanning the system for errors. If it works your pc will tell you it was successful. If you see no message then restart the pc.

Restart the pc (again)
Keep tapping F8 (again)
This time choice run Windows in safe mode
Allow windows to boot up normally (all the add ons and applications will be disabled)
When you log in, log in as the administrator
Once logged in (as a admin) go to add / remove program in the control panel.
Remove the application you downloaded. Sorry it caused the problem so it has to go.

Now restart your system normally.

I hoping this will solve the problem
If no run in safe mode again as described above but go straight to system tools in the accessories menu and launch system restore to two days ago.

I also strongly advise you do not download the application again.

Whenever you restart the comp. press F8 right after the POST... Choose Start Windows in Safe Mode (plain) and see if its start successfuly, if it does you should uninstall any software you installed before having this issue. you should also go to start/run and type msconfig then go to the startup tab and disable the softwares you did not uninstall and the system do not use, if this does not work you might wanna use your Windows XP CD to use the recovery console tool, you just need to follow instruccions. If it does not work email me, I'll be happy to help you with more option without reinstalling windows... :-)

Download and burn the Ultimate Boot CD. Use the Sytem Restore utility to restore your system to a point to before the crash. It will provide you a list of restore point so if one does not work try another.
You may want the UBCD even if you cannot recover your OS. It is a great little utility to have around.
