They have police in the DMV. If you go in for a license/ID and something pops up under your SSN they can and will notify a police office on site who will question you and depending on what the issue is retain you.

Anything is possible in this day and age, with all that our country has been through and is going through.

So I'd have to say it is possible, since more and more government agency's have linked their computers together to combat the war on terror. I doubt that the people that work at the DMV would be the one locking the person up, how ever nothing say that they could not detain some one if they were asked to so via computer.

The would be able to detain some one until the police/or federal agency responded to the location. So again any thing is possible.

I would say if you have a warrant out for your arrest you need to clear that up. Stop running from what ever you are running from as it is only a matter of time before you are caught. Turn your self in and get things straightened out.

It will only make things worse to let it go on and on. You will get caught eventually and it will only be worse in the end. At least if you turn your self in it will look better for you, you will at least look like you want to fix what ever you did wrong. You may end up with a lighter punishment.

But if you continue to evade the police you are only digging a larger hole in which you will fall into. And that larger hole may end up being deep enough that you may not be getting out of any time too soon.

Turn your self in and face up to what ever mess is awaiting you, since you made this in the first place. Running is only going to make your problem much worse. Besides later you will feel better for doing what you should have done in the first place.

Good luck to you what ever you decide to do. But, for your sake I hope you do the right thing and fix your situation and make your life better. One can only presume that since you asked this type of question that you are asking becuase you have some thing to fear. ***Note: that if it is due to out standing tickets get it taken care of. Some times they will reduce the fines to about 50% if the fines are all paid at once.

the only thing the DMV will do is a Drivers record check if your getting a drivers license. If you're just getting a state ID they'll give it to you, as long as you bring the proper paper work that is needed, birth certificate, SS card, etc. They won't arrest you there, but they will have your information, and if it's a major crime you're wanted for then they'll inform the police about your new ID and home address, etc.

Just for an normal state ID they won't though.

that's no longer likely. First, maximum misdemeanor or site visitors warrants are not on multi-state databases. 2d, maximum minor warrants are not truly truthfully worth the extradition expenditures, so MO received't extradite from CA for a minor warrant- that's no longer low-cost.
