They still need some in the secondary, and maybe at linebacker, they don't need to touch the offense how will they draft?

I still think the '07 post season was a picture of the Colt D playing well above its head.

This being said, I think the best available defender should be their first choice. Likely LB or DB as the line seems okay, but any of the above as the regular season showed holes that could resurface for the '07-08 season.

Man, where to start? Yes, I know they won the Super Bowl, but this team still has a lot of room for improvement. I think they need some solid DTs (they were weak against the run most of last season). When Sanders went down with an injury their secondary was terrible. So, they could use another good safety. Beyond that they need to replace the guys they have lost to free agency like Rhodes and a couple of others.

Indianapolis Colts (Last Year: 12-4).

Unrestricted Free Agents:
RB Dominic Rhodes, FB James Mungro, WR Aaron Moorehead, WR Ricky Proehl, WR Terrence Wilkins, DE Dwight Freeney, DT Dan Klecko, OLB Cato June, OLB Rob Morris, MLB Rocky Boiman, CB Nick Harper, S Mike Doss.
Restricted Free Agents:
QB Jim Sorgi, G Ryan Lilja, G Jake Scott, DE Josh Thomas, DE Bo Schobel, OLB Gilbert Gardner, CB Jason David.
Potential Cap Casualties:
WR Brandon Stokley, DT Corey Simon.

Cap Status (as of 2/22): $8.2 million under.

Offseason Needs:
Re-Sign Dwight Freeney: The first thing the Colts need to do to assure themselves a repeat is to re-sign their major free agents, starting with Dwight Freeney. **Freeney franchised**
Re-Sign Cato June: Indianapolis won't have much at linebacker if it lets Cato June go.
Re-Sign Nick Harper: Same goes for the cornerback position if Nick Harper leaves.
Defensive Tackle: The Colts' run defense clamped down in the playoffs. Was it a fluke? Was it attributed to inept game plans by Herman Edwards and Brian Billick? Who knows. Regardless, they need help at defensive tackle.
Outside Linebacker: Rob Morris, the team's other outside linebacker, is also a free agent. He'll need to be replaced. **Re-signed Rob Morris. **
Guard: I'd like to see the Colts add more depth at the guard position. This can be addressed with a second-day pick.
Running Back: If Indianapolis doesn't re-sign Dominic Rhodes, it'll need a capable backup for Joseph Addai.

Analysis: Unless the Titans or Jaguars make major improvements, there will be no one to challenge the Colts in the AFC South. Barring injuries to Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison and/or Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis will once again be in the hunt for the Lombardi Trophy.

Well, they lost a couple of key people during the offseason and they definitely won't be able 2 fill in all the holes....but...the most critical spots are the runningback and linebacker position.....Rhodes is gone and he had amazing talent....June is gone and he had the same effect....holding up the Colt's defence in the playoffs....

I say, seeing how they played in the playoffs this year, I don't think they will need any position filled at the moment, maybe in a few years, when some of the players leave, but, obviously they are doing really good with who they have, they just won super bowl XLI and have been in the playoffs forever.

Just like one of our Indianapolis reporters said. We have lost some key players, but not the star players. I think if we can improve anywhere on the defense, thats what will help the Colts to a repeat.

Another solid cornerback and a pass rusher to help Dwight Freeney who is getting doubled and tripled teamed.
