I went to Lancaster University and whilst Lancaster and the Lake District is a beautiful place it can be difficult to access without a car. The teaching quality of the university is quite high and (depending on the department) several tutors and professors are well established in their field.

However, as for the university administration, who control everything, they only care about money and I guarantee they will do lots of things to p++s you off during your stay. I can't count the number of protests that went on during my time there because of their ingrained capitalist greed. If they suddenly change your course or merge it with another department for no reason other than money, don't be surprised!

Sorry but this is the experience that me and many people in my year had. Thought it better that you know the truth before going. Good luck, hope you enjoy your time at university.

Lancaster - it is a nice place - with a pretty good night life and atmosphere. I don't know about the Uni itself though.
