I am terrified of going into preterm labor, i am only 21 weeks and just started feeling these quick, one second lasting, squeeze type things. I've been feeling the baby move from 16 weeks which were like flutters, I can't tell the difference if the baby is getting stronger or if they really are B/H....how can i tell?!

My guess would be the baby, my BH contractions sent me to the hospital yesterday! If you are worried though I would check with your doc just to be safe. My BH felt like one huge cramp in my lower abdomen, and the pain didn't let up for the entire hour before I went to the hospital. Whoever said BH contractions aren't painful are full of it!

Braxton hicks / false contractions are usually like a tightening feeling. It's probably what you are experiencing.
They get worse as the pregnancy progresses. Some are stronger than others and some can even hurt and make it difficult to breathe.
If you are worried, check with your doctor.

I also think it's your ligaments stretching but it could possibly be braxton hicks. When i had BH they would last longer than a second that's why I believe it's your ligaments.
