Like world hunger, poverty, AIDS/ HIV, drugs, cancer, terrorism, obesity. I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with the universal law of attraction, but it is known that whatever we bring into our lives we attracted it with the energy of our minds and emotions. And it’s believed that the reason why were having all of these unfortunate epidemics is because of the mindsets of the people. And with all of this energy, emotion going into these things the universe basically “thinks” we want more of it, so it keeps showing up. Many different philosophers believed in this law, and I was thinking if we just stop fighting all together we may see more results than we’re having now. What do you think?

Biznachos- Maybe I should have worded my question differently; Instead fighting against what we don’t want, lets focus on what we do want. Lets circulate positive energy instead of negative. And doing nothing is not what I want substituted for not fighting. Mother Teresa never went to an anti- war protest, she was pro peace. Instead of focusing on the anger, sadness or the need to panic emotions people have; she focused on happiness and the well being of all. People need to understand the power of their minds and emotions. Have you ever woke up in the morning and dreaded a bad day? You were thinking about the day before or when you woke up, and before you know your thoughts manifested. That’s the power of universal law of attraction, and if you apply it to an immense situation like the ones we’re having; our problems can be easily solved with the converting of our mindsets- From negative to positive.

And who needs vaccines when we can get rid of the disease. It does not surprise me that with fighting we were only able to get treatments and vaccines, but with the law we can abolish any disease. I’m not saying medicines and treatments should not be used, but with the strength of our minds we can get rid of all disease.

And you must be kidding about the slavery and tyrannical dictatorships. Just because slavery is not manual labor does not means it's gone. The government has found new ways to enslave us; only this time it’s that little piece of plastic in your wallet. And that’s not mentioning the types of manual labor that some may consider slavery going on everyday. And for the tyrannical dictatorships; who are we FIGHTING now? What monumental progress have we seen? Exactly.

I believe that there is a law of "magnetism", that what we focus on expands, for good or for bad. "The thoughts we habitually entertain have a tendency to actualize themselves into physical conditions". That our wills and choices ,efforts and faith become the mainstay of what happens to us. Emerson wrote; "In the long run man basically hits what he aims at". As far as the battle goes, I like Einstein's "The world is a dangerous place, not because of evil but because of the people who don't do anything about it". There's another good one for pessimists-"How many pessimists desire the things they fear in order to prove they're right"?

You found this theory in the school of metaphysics. There are also people who believe that the world is flat.

We fought polio, smallpox, chicken pox, and lots of other diseases for which we now have vaccines. Many people have successfully fought against slavery and tyrannical dictatorships.

I would have to say that we fight the things we don't want because fighting is a much better way to end them than is doing nothing.

I think the "universal law of attraction" is not actually a scientific law and although some philosophers may agree with i'm sure many also disagree with it.
Plus, It just doesn't stir up as much enthusiasm up to fight for svelte attractiveness.

I have to agree with you on this and add this as well. Too much one one thing is good for nothing. I don't know if you are familiar with something. I have to say that I am very satisfied with the way you worded your question and views. The word "Thinks" is the crucial word in your question. What we "Think" is best doesn't necessarily mean that it "IS" best hence all of the chaos in the world right now. The human ego, in my opinion, is to blame.

Very good question and debate.

I agree completely Amy.

I doubt it this will ever happen though because people are to afraid to have faith in the process. They want things the way that they want them, and are too afraid of change to just wait and see what is going to happen.

This is unfortunate because I have often been pleasantly surprised by the outcome when I just let it happen.

Love and blessings Don
