There should be valves under the sink that can be turned off until you can repair or replace the faucet. Most faucets have replaceable washers or discs. If you can find any information on the faucet take it to your local hardware store and ask for a repair kit that will work on your faucet. A lot of these kits come with instructions.

It could be a simple thing as the seat or the stem!
First cut off the water under your sink.....
2.....open the faucet to relieve the pressure
3.....remove the handle (there is a screw on top, probably under a cap or cover
4.....remove the stem this is what the screw was in, it is replaceable and could be the problem.
5.....with your seat wrench (you can get this at any hardware store) insert it into the faucet and turn it counter clockwise to remove the seat. If the seat is not smooth around the rim next to the stem you will need to replace it. this is about $1.00 to $1.50
6......Reassemble the faucet and turn on the water
The time repairing the faucet is less than drinking a cup of coffee.

You have water supply lines under the sink. Close the shut offs on them. Your faucet is now not getting water and can be serviced. The handle comes off. and the cartridge, or seal, inside the faucet can be removed. New seals are sold at plumbing supply stores. You need the brand and type, one or two handle, to buy the new part(s). New parts come with instructions. I cannot be more specific, without more info. Different brands and models have different systems.

Hi Cute,
The two persons before me have already answered your question, but just in case there is no valve under the sink which is pretty unlikely, you can still shut off the main supply from the city at the meter. In some country it is mandatory for the water to kitchen sink to be directly from the mains without going into the reservoir.
Hope this answer helps

Check and see if there is a shut off under the sink. It will look like a faucet handle. If there is one, shut it off. That will shut off all water to the sink until you can get it fixed.

Turn off under sink. Remove handle. Remove valve assy with a wrench of pliers. On the bottom of the valve is a washer. It may not be there anymore. Take to store, ask for help finding the right one. Replace.

There should be another handle right below the sink. Thats the valve that controls the water pressure. You'll probably have to use that until you call a plumber.
