many reasons for unusual engine noises-a heavy knocking noise low down in the engine which increases with acceleration could be a crankshaft bearing-main or big end. a lighter sounding noise -piston or small end bearing.noises from the top of the engine-valve or camshaft problems.water pumps and alternators make screeching noises when the bearings or drive belts are loose or worn.to check remove belts and if the noise has gone then you have your answer

What do you expect? You get what you deserve when you waste your money on a Kia. The only bit that suprises me is that the Kia Rio 1300 can actually accellerate.
