I used Depo for a hell of a long time and It was over a year and still no sign of a period, my friend was the same and she used it for 6 months.
I have decided to use the pill and after my 1st packet I got a bleed which is what happens with the pill you get a withdrawal bleed rather than a period but at least I know now that everything is ok down there if you know what I mean. I used the pill for 6 months and I had regular bleeding at the end of each packet. I have now stopped using pill and my body appears to have regulated its cycle one again and I have a short menstrual cycle about 3 days each month now. When I went for a smear it was the nurse who mentioned using the pill to get my body's cycle back into sync so speak to your doctor as each of us is different and they is no way of saying how long it can take. also if you have put some weigh on its hard to shift once I got a bleed on the pill I was able to shift almost 2 stone

Good luck Sarah

I was on Depo Provera for about 2years and it took well over a year for me to have any sort of bleeding, and alot longer nearly two years before my cycle resembled anything that it was before i started it. I would never advise this to anyone after the experience i had with it. Not only did it take a long time for my periods to return to normal but i put on nearly 4 stone in the 2yrs i was takin it and my skin was terrible and my hair lank and greasy. NOT NICE!!!

It varies greatly from person to person.

I took depo for around 18 months and took 7 months for my plumbing to show signs of life.

My best mate however took it for 4 years and was back to normal within 3 months.

It is different with each person. Mine returned to normal after about 2 months.
