My girlfriend is complaining that she never goes anywhere or does anything now she's pregnant but i don't know where i can take her. She doesn't want to club because she can't drink, she obviously can't do any of the extreme sports we used to do or go to a theme park. We can't even go to a theatre or cinema because she can't sit comfortably for that long. We've heard of spas that offer pregnant massage, and such, but we want to do something as a couple and can't find places that will cater for me as well. This is only an idea, any other ideas for days out would be very welcome. We live in Essex and work in London so we're especially looking for things in those areas.

My girlfriend is heavily pregnant and i want to spoil her because she's having a very hard time, especially after a few complications. We go out to eat and shop a lot and i'd like to try something special. she can't sit still too long so the theatre and cinema are out and long walks really tire her, especially after a long day at work. I've heard of spas that cater for pregnant women but we want to do something togather and don't know where these places are. Please don't just answer with abuse about my moaning girlfriend as she's a wonderful woman going through a very hard time, as any parent would know. Also, please read a few of the previous answers before answering so as not to keep repeating yourselves. Thank You

It's really nice that you're thinking about how to entertain your pregnant girlfriend now that you can't do the things you used to do together!! It doesn't really matter what you do, so long as you make time to do stuff together.

Go shopping - for her / for the baby
Go for picnics now the weather is better
Go out for some really good meals - once the baby comes you won't be going out for a very long time!!
Go to galleries and museums - nice because there's usually lots of places to sit and rest and a cafe for when she gets peckish.
Do some touristy things like going on the London Eye - it's a beautiful view and there's some nice shops and restaurants in the area for before/afterwards.
Get a kite and go kite flying - just an excuse to hold hands and watch the clouds go by...
Take her away for a romantic weekend break.

Try http://www.oeuf.org.uk/index.asp?sectionID=4&pageID=2 for couples massage!

Also, go out for long walks with her whenever you can. She'll get tired, but it's so good for her and the baby and staying fit will really really help when she's in labour.

Make sure you do stuff with friends as well; it's easy to let your friends slip away when you're not doing the same things you used to before you got pregnant!

Join the National Trust. That way you can go for short walks around pretty places, but there is always a cafe where you can have a sit down, cup of tea and a piece of cake!
I've seen lots of spas that do couples days or treatments for men as well. Or you could go and stay a night in a nice hotel that has a spa and let her go and have a massage and say you'll see her afterwards.

You could always hire a personal massage therapist that will come to your house and do it there, the best thing i think would be to ring a couple of the spas around your area and ask if there is anywhere they know that will also cater for the male as well. Failing that why not organise a treat just for her like getting her hair done and getting a manicure and a pedicure. Although you ideally want to do it as a couple why not just spoil her and why she's out make a lovely dinner for her with fresh flowers and i'm sure she will be happy.

Going to a spa sounds like a good idea, why not take her to have her hair done, her nails done and a full make over and have some professional pictures done together, something which you can both look at when your little one is running around. Even you can ave hair and nails done and it will be a good laugh for the both of you. Hope you find an idea soon and congrats on the baby

a meal with a difference take her to a restarant at a race course. i know it sounds weird but i worked at a race course a dogs racecourse. she will get the comfort of sitting down and having a meal whilst watchin a race. and u dont have to bet that much. 50p a time on tote which usually comes to your table or u could make it more fun and bet against each other like if number 1 wins then if the baby a girl her name will be kacie lol it an example
sorry if u dont like it and if you go u want a table next to the window so u have a great view of the track and near a tv to keep a eye on the odds

Don't know if anyone has suggested this, but a lot of places offer "BABYMOON" breaks, which are specifically designed for couples to spend some time away (sometimes at a spa hotel or just a relaxing hotel) alone together before the baby comes along - it's getting quite popular - try typing babymoon breaks into google or something
btw, think it's fabulous that you want to treat her!

Hi, it seems like you already know what you want to do for her, so below aree a few links to health spa for pregnanct women in Essex/London. How about grabbing a DVD and a take out and have a nice cosy night in? Or book a haidresser that come to you and or a beautician that can do her nails, massage etc? Hope the preganacy's healthy and you are blessed with a lovely, warm bundle of joy.

Why don't you organise a picnic and take her somewhere relaxing and tranquil where you can lay out a rug (or bring her a comfortable stretch chair).
She would be getting out of the house, able to enjoy the fresh air and outdoors, yet it is not strenuous and she can lay down with a pillow if she wants.
Maybe you could pack some non-alcoholic wine and treats in the basket as well.
Sure she'd appreciate it.

Umm I've never been to England period, but if you have miniature golf, that could be fun. Also, try signing up for a class together, like painting or pottery. An easy thing to do is to go look at baby stuff, but that can get tiresome after a while. Oh, try a karoake bar. You can still drink, and the two of you can have fun singing and being goofy.
