VB 2005 is the latest edition of VB.NET and it uses .NET framework 2.0.

Usually when people say VB.NET they are talking about VB.NET 2003 which uses framework 1.1

Visual Basic 6.0 is the last version of VB that doesn't target .NET framework.

Visual Basic 6.0 is different from VB.NET (both 2003 & 2005).

Hope this helps.

VB (a.k.a VB6 version 6) was the last major release before dot net.

The current VB2005(expressed edition included) is version 8
(VB2003 being ver 7)

There are major fundamental changes in the dot net world. I would learn the newest version and not really bother learning the old.

Hi there.

Yes, Visual Basic 2005 uses .NET technology.

Visual Basic 2005 is the next iteration of Visual Basic .NET, Microsoft having decided to drop the .NET portion of the title.

Here's more info.

VB 2005 (ALL versions) require the .NET framework be installed on the computer before you can use it.

the particular version is decrease down for inner maximum use, to get used to the equipment and which you will income to application. in case you desire to make applications for different individuals you will the two could desire to purchase the pro version, learn C, C++ or some thing comparable and get a compiler. i recognize VB is elementary to income yet MS could desire to make some money for his or her efforts... pitiful regardless of the indisputable fact that they may well be in specific circumstances.
