Because like the old anti drug slogan used to say "The mind is a terrible thing to waste." Without study, (in and out of school) you're chances of reaching full potential become zip. Learn what you can where you can. The more you learn the more chances become available to you, the more chances the more success you have.

Your brain and the knowledge you get are the only things you can truley rely on. Don't sell yourself short!

Study precludes lack of curiosity. Many humans, actually most of them are by nature curious and have an innate need to learn about the world around them.
Having said that, there appears to be a number of them who have no need to know anything, hence no need to learn or to study.

it always good to be learning i find out experiences from those and making it better, also learning is every thing in the world, when you were small you learn how to walk and talk and when you grow up you learn more to understand how things work and learn how to play golf or whatever even learn how to play game! you not going to be a nerd from studying though! had fun with learning!
