This is a very good idea, most main stream faiths are swimming in untaxed cash.
It is amusing really, all faiths say they will help your fellow man in need, well next time your skint and really hungry pop down your local church for a helping hand and see what you get.
Praying does not fill your belly.

Yes, great idea, but as religion has been the reason for millions of deaths over centuries it could be such a high tax no-one could afford to pay it so would have to give up their religion. Best idea I've heard, one piece of tax legislation to save millions of lives in the future.
BRING IT ON...,,,

I guess if you were really strange you could make a case for just about anything. Why not have a tax on stupidity? You Libs wouldn't want that would you? I'm not religious but I don't have a problem with you if you are.(Which you obviously aren't). It is not religion that's to blame, it's religious zealots. Look at you. In your attempt to become relevant, you come up with a question such as you did. You need help with your AGGRESSION.

So religion is not suppose to have any influence on the state but the state can tax religion? What about humanism. Isn't that a religion. What about all these small churches that are very loving and do many good things for the community like food and clothing. Can we tax the Gov. for that service. What about Southern Baptist that after Katrina went into New Orleans and helped rebuild. Can we charge the Gov. for that. These hateful religions. Somebody ought to do something.

Fellow ace gunner agrees, so must i, although it shouldn't be taxed, probably banned. Maybe that's going too far, but when you see the trouble it creates how can it be good as we are led to believe. If it was good, all religion would go hand in hand and help each others members, not try to destroy them. Its the hypocritical nature of saying they want peace and love yet doing the opposite that makes you wonder if it were better off disposed of.

I definetly agree with this idea.
These people make thousands, and in the cases of televangelists, millions of dollars on the premise of a book. A book that can't be proven to be true. These people are nothing more then salesmen. They sell an idea of faith. If people buy it they tithe and donate money to the church.
Religion isn't necessarily a bad thing either. It gives some people a reason to live. Some people don't follow it, and that is fine. But, when someone starts shoving it down my throat, that's when I have a problem with it.
As I am sure someone will mention Islam in this thread, I will say this. GET OFF YOUR DAMN CHRISTIAN HIGH-HORSE, YOU ARE NO BETTER THEN ANYONE ELSE.

I agree with you but only since religion has crossed over into politics. If they are going to determine public policy via the bible they should at least have to pay like the reat of us.

Not the religion itself, but the physical proberty that they own, including the contents of the church and any thing of material value that the church owns.
