Is he gay enough?

There was alot of speculation about Obama not being "black enough" for the tastes of many in the black community http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1584736,00.html

I was just wondering about the homosexual community's perspective?

I think that the homosexual community should take a good hard look at him as when the Clintons were in the white-house, they didn't do much for the gay community. They did the "Don't ask, don't tell", but, to me, that isn't a solution. That is more like the "bury your head in the sand" solution. I would rather give someone different a chance, and the republicans are not too gay friendly.

For those people who think that Obama is a Muslim, I suggest reading the article listed below. It has been investigated by www.snopes.com, which is a reputable rumor investigation site. They find no validity to that accusation.

The accusations are nothing more than political BS, just to try to get people NOT to vote for this man. And, for the uninformed, it will work.

I think Ann Coulter handily delivered a solid gay vote to the Democrats in 2008.
An Edwards Obama ticket would be great.
Both are Washington insiders and as a result a risk of the Clinton years repeating, BUT...
I feel this should be a campaign about issues. The personalities running against each other DO NOT interest me!

As an observer from outside the US, it would seem to me that Mr. Obama has some decent credentials and ideas, however, like most of the electorate, gays don't vote in blocks. As such, Mr. Obama may speak to some and may appear lacking to others. He will need to show not only leadership but also integrity, even if it means having to be not quite as gay friendly as some may want yet not appear overly so. It's a hell of a balancing act and I will watch to see if he can pull it off.

I think it is unwise as this time in our nation's history to elect a devote Muslim to the presidency. Fanatic Muslims have been saying for years that it is their goal to have the Muslim flag flying over the White House by 2010. God help us all when that happens. Obama is free to practice his faith in America, but Muslims believe that government should be a theocracy, and that is a serious threat to all that our country stands for. True, Christians tend to have a large sway here in politics, but we have not become a theocracy under them. We still retain our Constitutional Republic. But once Islam gets a foothold on our government, kiss America goodbye. As Americans it is our duty to protect the Constituation at all cost - putting all other issues as secondary to it, because without the Constitution nothing else will matter. And just a reminder, there will never be protection of gay rights under Islam and our very lives may be in danger.

i don't experience in the slightest degree sorry for the President with reference to what he's about to face, and everyone who has study adequate of my posts may understand why. as well, at the same time as President Obama watches his get at the same time get trounced this election cycle, he easily may have more beneficial than adequate human beings to commiserate with. At any price, after the election I plan on paying major interest to what Republicans have for option coverage proposals, and probably contacting a pair of them by ability of e mail or fax to grant my perspectives on what i imagine may nicely be finished at the same time as the recent Congress is in consultation come January 2011.

He isn't "gay" at all, nor is that required to get the majority of the votes from gay people.

He's a well-educated and articulate straight guy. That's "gay enough" for me.
