You mean Ephedrine. It is a stimulant, very similar in composition to amphetamines but it is NOT amphetamine. The effects are similar but nowhere near as vicious. Apart from its stimulating effect it is also good for clearing your airways such as in case of asthma, nasal congestion, flu and colds etc. It can be used to treat sleeping disorders such as narcolepsy. Those people who don't need it shouldn't really use it, it can have side effects and some people with heart conditions should never take it. To make sure your body doesn't get used to it, it is recommended to take some treatment breaks from it. It is not an addictive substance, although some resistance can be built up if taken all the time. Some people use it for weight loss, although I wouldn't really recommend it because in order to achieve weight loss, you would need to take a bit more than recommended (that's one of the reasons why you may develop resistance towards it). For me it's great, as it keeps me awake, although I only take it in small quantities and I would never dream of taking 7 tablets in one day as another person here was saying about a friend. That is substance abuse! Of course, substance abuse can happen when somebody is taking too many paracetamols too often.

It is technically an asthma medication that is sold over the counter at most gas stations. If you take it without have asthma, your heart races and you feel like you have energy. My boyfriend had me taking it before workouts about 10 years ago, I guess I don't really remember it helping enough to make it worth taking.
I am not sure of your reasons for taking it, but I would recommend staying away from it unless a doctor recommends it.
Good Luck!

Ephedra (Ephedrine) is an herb that was pulled off the shelves. It is used to such things as congestion, bronchial spasms, & as a central nervous system stimulant. It helps decrease appetite while elevating mood. Also known as Ma Huang.

Hi, my friend used Ephradrine to lose weight about 3 years ago. She started taking one tablet every time she exercised, but your body gets used to it and you have to start taking more and more just to get the same effect as before. At one point, she had to take 7 of them just to walk 20 minutes home (seriously dangerous)

Are your dishes too large? A healthy dinner should fit on the 9-inch plate. You may find that kid-sized plates are more appropriately sized to feed a grown-up!

Distracted dining can get you in trouble. Avoid eating in front of a television or in a movie theater, as you're bound to take in more calories.

Can cause high blood pressure. Ephedra, I thought, was banned in the United States after several people tried to get high on it and died from heart failure.

Edamame (soy beans) are a great low-cost snack. Look for the children in the frozen foods area.
