Sadr City, Iraq at night time. It is basically the ghetto of Baghdad. When i was there we actually had a camp set up there. We were overrun one night. Scary place!

I somehow ended up on a street once in Brooklyn, that, for a considerable stretch, looked amazingly like a for-real DMZ. Buildings boarded up, the whole nine yards. The atmosphere was actually palpably oppressive and tense, sort of like when the bad guys ride into town in an old western movie, and the steets are empty because everybody else is hiding indoors. I think the local inhabitants didn't kill me because they just couldn't believe I was actually stupid enough to walk through there.

People's basements, I don't like being in a cold and dark space and that is how some peoples' basements are to me. =)
