The World Wide Web is physically the combination of phone companies (including wireless providers), cable companies and satellite companies wireless/wired infrastructure for users to interface it. At its core are Optical Carrier and satellite microwave networks interconnected globally, in addition to that are whats called tributaries, that are like the on/off ramps of large interstate highway systems, mostly Circuit switched and Packet switched access/transport systems interconnect the various service providers.
