Rub a lot of olive oil on your body before bath. Let it soak for 20 mins and then take a shower. It really helps dry skin.

Have you ever used a sea salt shower scrub? It's devine.
It removes all the dead skin cells while softening your skin with natrual things.
Please do not use a cream/oil that has mineral / petroleum
in it. If you take a saltine cracker and add it to baby oil and take a cracker and add it to water, you will see how the oil hardens the cracker, imagine that on your skin? The water softens the cracker. I do believe you need products to help soothe dry skin. More then cold water.
If you are talking about your "face" I have been using the nutrimin c re0 regime and have a glowing face that is far from dry (and yes I had a t zone in the winter with dry skin)
I have aligator skin and with the sea salt shower scrub and re9 body cream I can say, my skin is "soft/and new"

You need to deeply condition and hydrate your skin with the proper ingredients that will not cause your skin to break out, produce oil, or dry out. Most lotions on the market contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate the pores of your skin. Products that contain mineral just sit on the top layer like saran wrap and cause dirt and debris to collect on your skin. These also give a temporary feeling of softness and have little to no benefit. Check your products to ensure they do not contain harmful ingredients such as alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, animal products, acetone, etc. These will irritate and/or dry out your skin. Arbonne has a great day creme, hydrating body lotion, and intelligence moisturizer that are pure, safe, beneficial, and water based so it will actually penetrate your dermis and deeply condition your skin without irritation and dryness. If you're interested in trying a free sample, I'll be happy to send you one.

First, increase your water consumption - your dry skin may be due to not drinking enough water. Second, use a cleanser/body wash made for dry skin. Gently exfoliate your skin once or twice a week with a scrub made for sensitive/dry skin. Finally, use Eucerin, cocoa butter or shea butter to moisturize your skin every day. Try eating salmon once or twice a week as it will help your skin and take a multi-vitamin every day.

Use a moisturiser and once a week, oil yr body with either olive/coconut/mustard /sesame oil.
Give a good rub and bathe after a few mins. wn the oil will have soaked in.
While bathing, add 1 -2 spoonfull of sesame[til] oil to yr bucket of water [lukewarm] ....... this will leave a very thin film of oil on yr skin., preventing the dryness that follows after a bath.

Do NOT use soap on your skin,--especially the face. Use Attitude Face Wash, which is non-soap based (Mango pulp ).
In addition, start using ARTISTRY Cleanser, Toner, and Moisturiser every morning and night.
Your skin will be baby-soft within a month!
Want it???

cold or warm water is not going to make any difference... you have to take care after bath or after washing your face. this the time when you have to apply moisturiser on your face and a suitable skin lotion on rest of your skin... never forget to apply moisturiser before going to bed... use soaps with ingredients like glycerin or cream... say 'dove', 'pears' etc...
