Mirza is attractive and a good player. She is the first Indian player ranked in the top 50. She is also a bit of a hero/role model for young Indian women as she is fiercely independant and does not follow traditional, conservative roles that many young women are forced to follow. There have even been protests led by conservative religous leaders at her matches. To say that less than 1 in 100 tennis fans know who she is is a major misstatement.

Go to Greenland. If a single soul there knows who Mirza is, then she's popular. Otherwise, she's a nobody. Sharapova

Well she has never one a big tournament so I guess it is her Boobs. I think we get most of the Mirza post from people from India , they are dedicated though aren't they. You can never come into the tennis section without seeing her name somewhere. I have asked myself the same question. TC messtograves

For Bob (you) it may be the boobs, bu her game and her outlook is very good. And on a good day she can beat almost any one but physical fitness, freedom from injuries and good coaching are her needs now.

I quess some Pakistanis want to make her seem somebody or a celebrity by continuing giving her attention.
Sorry buddy, don't take offence, but i had to check out who is Mirza, just from all the attention about her in yahoo. I don't know if one out of 100 tennis fan knows who she is.

she is like that because of her boobs aswell as game because she is considered best female tennis player in india at the moment and there is no one else now to compete with her at the national level!
