I am beginning to wonder just that.

The basic logic seems to be:

1. Establish a moral argument.

2. Establish a 'bad behaviour' connected to that moral argument.

3. Establish a tax to counter this 'bad' behaviour.

Do they have any other answer to anything apart from taxing it ?

The problem is - both are only pretending to be green in order to try and get the green vote. They don't practice what they preach. The only party that is actually worthy of getting the so called "green vote" is the Green Party.

The problem with Labour and the Tories is that in their efforts to occupy the center ground they have lost site of what is important. Their top priority now seems to be spin, rather than solid policies that will actually change anything or improve things. The fact is that rather than occupying the true center ground of politics, both major parties seem to be stuck in a limbo of media headline grabbing, and knee jerk reactions, in an effort to do whatever they think will be most popular with those people who have not yet decided who they support.

There is now no clear divide between them. Neither of them can be described as left, right or center any more. They are only interested in marketing themselves as the most fit to govern, and as such have lost site of what it really takes to govern properly.

There has been a dramatic change in politics since Blair and his gang took charge of the Labour vote. Frankly New Labour is a communist government and has no connection with old British socialism.
Communism relies on forcing issues onto the public and taking away accepted freedoms, ie, New identity cards, forcing you to have house inspections ect ect ect ect ect and ect. New Labour rely on the immigrant vote and those that have
no wish to see change, it relies on punishing those that actually do work, ie removing tax advantages on mortgages, beating up the pensioners and making sure that they get hold of your retirement money.
The Conservative used to represent profit for what you do, but under Cameron and Howard have slowly moved to old Labour politics and are effectively the real New Labour. Do you know, Cameron is to try and force 20% gay candidates on to the voting communities, 20% ethnic candidates and 50% women, What ever happened to the best candidate for the job. So, yes your right there is little difference between both parties, they both support war in Iraq, going into Europe and the loss of our sovereignty and the continuation of the flow of immigrants into the country. Unless their power is dramatically cut this country is doomed. We need to look at other established parties to champion our rights.

They're not concerned in the slightest. They are politicians wanting to get elected so they will tell the public what we want to hear on issues that are currently in the press.

Of course both parties will accomplish being 'green' by taxing us consumers whilst they give themselves pay rises and drive past in their Chelsea Tractors.

It's a not so stealthy tax frankly and we as the voting public should refuse it. But we'll do what we always do as good little Brits. We'll smile and make some quip about 'Death and Taxes'.

Of course they are.
When Tony Blair 'invented' New Labour he took the middle ground and alienated the old Labour Politicians and voters. Some decided that this was the way to get elected members and did so. Others still held on to their Marxist views and acquiesced in the 'bath' of politics.
Conservative policy has, likewise, moved from hard right to a more centralist area and the two are now so much alike, there is confusion in voter's minds.
I suppose it now comes down to whom do you believe, not the Politics of the Party.
That is still the unanswered question n'est ce pas?

The tories are trying to be like Labour but are failing miserably, as for so-called green taxes it won't be long before we can't afford to go to work to earn money to pay tax because of the tax it costs to go to work to pay more tax, WHAT A GREAT IDEA...,,,
