I know i do it seems so wrong when i see it done

I don't particularly hate it - it just takes me longer to read the message

Yep I hate it but when you have a limited amount of space to send a message you do have to abbreviate in some way. I agree though it looks really wrong. Its used so commonly now though, I think in a few years most people will have become illiterate and won't know how to spell properly!

I hate it ONLY when I'm the one reading it. At times... I wouldn't understand what my friends or family are trying to say. But,... I don't mind doing it. Id jus spel lyk dat wen I get 2 tired 0r 2 lazy. Still, grammar is important, especially when the message is an EMERGENCY.

its OK in places, when your running out of space or need to send a really quick text, but there are not real set spellings, so its difficult for some people, like my Dad!

whilst i'm texting then i don't techniques it yet after we are typying on im or something then i'd like them to spell out hate; i don't care abut u or r stuff like it particularly is positive yet once you do h8 then it bothers me :)

Yes. It's now even unnecessary in text messages since most phones have predictive text. I also don't understand why people can't capitalise, "i" for instance.

it annoys me so much when people use txt speak when using a full qwerty keyboard! they have every letter in front of them why not utilize them!
