Yes there is Christian rap and Christian rock bands.Artists have their own style of sending a msg. out.Music is an expression. Check out wherever there is a large selection of cd's..like Best Buy or Target, they have edited versions of rap music. The cd's have parental guidence stickers on them which means they are G rated..You can also look Christian Bands/Music up on the internet and see who's music your son might be interested in listening to.You cant make him listen to what you want him to tho...you can monitor him when he's at home but he will listen to what he wants to when he is with his peers.

NOTE:
Will Smith made a cd in 2005 I believe...called "Lost and Found" and all of his music is G rated.

Just put Christian Rap Music/Artists in your browser, its easy.

I have enclosed a site:

DC Talk the early years, Paul Wright has some rap on his CD's, KJ-52 is a great rap artist. If you live around Oklahoma or Missouri there is a store called Mardels and they have all their music genred and they have a rap hip-hop r&b section with some great artists.

whatever his style is right now is soley dependent on what's out there right now.however, being that he is 8 years of age,he should be supported for his musical ingenuity and creativity.rap and hip-hop has been such an anti-ism in america over the past 30+ years that the youth has been subjected to some of the most obscene, dehumanizing and talentless music today-(not just rap).some of these answers you're getting may not have been around when i was,to know that, even though the fresh prince(will smith) was making his g-rated albums, getting no respect in the hip hop community, he was also going through the same uneducated dealings as many young, rich, black rappers face today-(20 yrs later),un-educated with money.will smith went bankrupt spending money on women and gambling, trying to live the fast life.as long as this young man,(your son),stays grounded and educated,he'll make the right decision for his artistic path.in the meantime he may want to check out this hybrid cd-(thuggish with a message) called "thug religion",distributed by Rap Classics.I'm not going to reccommend rapture without some cursing, because of adaptation with the times and style, however there is such a thing as overkill.things sure have changed over the years in hip hop except for the fluidity of it's power and influence on generation after generation,no matter the critics.the youth these days don't need to turn to rap music, sports,or drug dealing to believe that's all they have going for themselves.self-worth, as with music,is just as a powerful tool in the continuous evolution of free thinking.if i've pondered to much on this subject, i apologize for my runaway thoughts, and i hope you're son excels in everything he attempts.sincerely,martin.a.b.

It would not all get "a undesirable rap", in straight forward terms a good little bit of the cutting-edge song. because of the fact that's quite often undesirable, that's mainstream, pop style song, no count what "style" the "artists" attempt to make it sound like. i do in comparison to mainstream, anybody can sing, primary style song besides, so, i'm pre-programmed to dislike maximum cutting-edge Christian song. i like Blues, Grunge, Indie, international, Techno and different oddball style's superb. Gospel is an entire distinctive element. i like gospel song, Gregorian chants are additionally very eye-catching, and particularly effectual. Like I pronounced, ALL Christian song isn't undesirable.

Don't listen to the people who say christian rap is terrible. There is some amazing stuff there, you just have to find it. DJ Maj is awesome, and his cds are dj mixes so you get a lot of cool artists, they are not all christian, but they all do have a positive message.
Check him out

Common and Talib Kweli are two. They throw a few cuss words in here and there. Kanye West is the same way with his messages. Pharrell is mostly about making money. Again some cuss words. FInally try Timbaland... he makes a lot of songs with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado. Not a lot of cussin there.

So take those names and go to Best Buy or Walmart and look for the EDITED versions where the cus words are engineered out.

Yes, there is rap out there without the bad language.
Check out Will Smith. I can't think of anyone else...unless you buy an edited version. But sometimes those still contain bad phrases. There is so much slang you know.

good luck.
