okay last week i felt bloated and tired and my boobs hurt, i assumed i was gonna ovulate, i did feel the stabbing pains in my ovaries so i figured i was ovulating, i cant remember the exact day, so yesterday morning and tonight i have been getting the same stabbing pains in my right side. so im confused. i think my last period was feb. 19,2007, some calculators have put it on the 5th or the 6th would be my ovulation date. so why would i have the same sharp stabbing pains like im ovulating again? makes me wonder if i ovulated twice? i guess i will go by the date of this period and try to keep track of it.

It sounds like your period might be on its way based on the calculation figures you gave but to be on the safe side check with your dr.

You're right--you will need to keep a record of the day your period begins. It's actually best to do this every month. If your periods are regular, ovulation generally occurs 14 days prior to the onset of your next period. Besides the pain you described on one side or the other, most women also can tell by their cervical mucous- -it becomes thinner, more slick and there's more of it. Ovulation predictor kits are also very helpful and accurate. If you're doing this in order to conceive, then you might want to see your ob-gyn for some blood work that can also check whether or not you're ovulating. This is usually recommended if you've been trying for over 6-12 months to conceive but haven't. Hope this helps.

Personally, Ive never felt my ovulation cycle as intense as u hv described and it is not supposed to pain this bad. it is meant to only b a sudden stab of pain at the bottom part of ur stomach js after ur periods begin...mebe 2-3days after periods...
I think u should consult a doctor to just test if there could be anything wrong...

A good idea for you is to use an ovulation prediction kit and that will let you know for sure when you ovulated.
