Oh most definitely. My daughter is 3 months old and she has been on a schedule for about a month now. I think waiting until the initial shock of being out in the world is gone for them and they are familiar with their environment is a good idea. My daughter would be up all night long and sometimes all day too for the first 6 weeks or so. I tried everything! Eventually I just said enough, its schedule time. I made up a nighttime routine. We go to her bedroom and she hangs out without her diaper for a while. Then we do some playtime, then a bottle, then I hold her for about 10 Min's until she is drowsy and then put her in her crib. After 2 bedtime stories she is out like a light, for about 6 hours. She wakes to eat and then sleeps again for 3 hours. Its fabulous. Just stick to it no matter what. Don't be too rigid though. It's OK to stray off the schedule times a bit and to keep the daytime a little spontaneous. It takes a lot of trial and error, but of course, you know your baby best. Do what works for him.

He's probably on more of a schedule than you realise. Life felt very chaotic when my baby was little until I spent a couple of days writing down what she did and when (like 10am - fed for 15 mins, 10.30 am napped for an hour, 11.30am changed dirty nappy, etc) and realised that she had her own routine and I could start working around it and adjusting it to meet my needs.
I found it useful to do this every couple of weeks as she changed so fast!

Yes, a perfect time. Most children thrive on schedules. But there are exceptions also. If you try and it fails, don't worry, as long as it doesn't bother you. By the way, there are mothers who hate schedules too... ;-)

Any time is a good time. Babies and children need routine to feel comfortable.
