I found this word challenge that I cannnot work it out satisfactorily. Perhaps it's a pretty dumb problem to start with. Please have a go at it and let me know what you come up with.

C => F; D=>H; G=>N; H=> ?; I=>R

What is the missing letter ? O, P, Q or R

I notice that C=>F you skip over 2 letters. Then D=>H you skip over 3 letters. Then G=>N you skip over 6 letter. At the end I=>R you skip over 8 letters. I look at the number series 2 3 6 ? 8 and they make no sense. If I pick ? to be 7 then the answer would be P. I don't find it a very satisfactory answer.

Hope that people can find a better one. Or the author of this question should be demoted!

If you count the position of each letter in the alphabet, C is #3 and you skip 2.
D is #4 and you skip 3.
G is #7 and you skip 6.
I is #9 and you skip 8.

Do you see a pattern here?

every letter is advanced by it's numerical position in the normal alphabet.

C is normally 3rd: so C + 3 --> F
D is normally 4th: so D + 4 --> H
E is normally 5th: so E + 5 --> J
F is normally 6th: so F + 6 --> L
G is normally 7th: so G + 7 --> N
H is normally 8th: so H + 8 --> P

etc...

Answer shud be 'p'
becoz in this

a b c d e f g h i j ........................................z
c is given no 3 ,if u remove first 3.
The series become d e f g h i j .............................z
and 3rd in this is 'f'

therefore c =>f

a b c d e f g h i j ........................................z
d is given no 4,if u remove first 4
the series become e f g h i j .............................z
and 4th character in this is 'h'

therefore d=>h

a b c d e f g h i j ........................................z
g is given no 7,if u remove first 7.
the series become h i j k l m n.............................z
and 7th character in this is 'n'

therefore g=>n

a b c d e f g h i j ........................................z
i is given no 9,if u remove first 9
the series become j k l m n o p q r s t.............................z
and 9th character in this is 's'

therefore i=>r

if u follow same pattern

a b c d e f g h i j ........................................z
h is given no 8,if u remove first 8.
the series become i j k l m n o p q .............................z
and 8th character in this is p

therefore h=>p
