because Mr P. Chidambaram forgets one thing while making his "Metrobased Budgets" that "India lives in the villages not the cities".
that India is a rich nation full of poor people
that wheat and onion are grown by farmers not by steel manufacturers and cement companies,
that the voters are farmers not the jet jumping executives,
that 1 rupee spend in excess is more valuable to a farmer than 1 billion lost in a whole day at the BSE Sensex.

Aid to farmers have been cut. In a nation where food is scarce, it isn't smart to cut aid to the farmers.

Farmers need to stand up to the Indian gov't.

They are ignored. They still depend on the vagaries of nature for cultivation. Irrigation is absolutely neglected in the Budget.
