If you have reached out to this friend and this person is determine to live a destructive lifestyle, there is nothing you can do. But you can let this person now your ear is open if thing should go bad and problems arise. Don't parent any person to much because the person might resent it and distance themselves from you. I hope this helps.

if you've already tried talking, and it didn't work, well try this (it's what i did). I took my friend to a upclass restaurant one evening. She liked it very much. After that I took her to an upclass valley (big double story houses and fancy cars). We both admired it all very much. The day after that we grabbed hamburgers from a downtown take away. It was really messy. And I drove her through the small houses with their rotten walls and rusted cars and youngsters with torn clothes with children and so on. We stopped and I looked her straight in the eye and asked: "What would you prefer? Being 20 with 4 children and a drunk for a husband or 40 with 2 children and a wonderful loving husband?" She made a decision... She is now 28 and studying for financial accounting. It's hard, but you've got to try it (or something similar)

Sit them down when they are sober and tell them what you think. Explain what can happen to their bodies through drinking too much and also what trouble they can get into if they are too drunk to help themselves.

Take photos of her when she's drunk and show her when she's sober..I know seeing photos of myself drunk really gave me a reality check when I was young and stupid. You think your sooo cool till you see photos of yourself...eiwwww..not a good look.

There's only so much you can do to help before you should just distance yourself from them because they'll just take you down with them.
