Define "relationship." If it is just kissing, hugging and going out, it is not illegal.
However, in many states, if one of the parties is under the age of 18, the other party could be charged with a crime, if your activity becomes more involved than with the above-stated activities.
What state do you reside in?

I checked out your profile and it sttes you live in Idaho. The age of consent there is 16 years old, according to the links below.
However, If you look at the link to Title 18, Chapter 61 of the Idaho Criminal Code, it appears that 18 is the legal age for sex.
It may be prudent to contact a local attorney for more guidance, than request offhanded legal advise without actual research...

It depends. In Victoria Australia, the age of consent is 18. However, people aged 16 - 18 are allowed to have sex providing that the person they are sleeping with is not more than two years older than them. So a 17 year old could have sex with the 19 year old providing that the 19 year old was not 2 years older.
Check in your own jurisdiction for accurate information about your situation. Although at times, the law may seem unfair, it is actually there to protect people like you.

This questions presents a fine line between legal terminology and what is acceptable. In the strictest sense of the law it is illegal for you two to be having sex. However, the odds that anyone would pursue criminal action for doing so is pretty low. Unless your parents are very much against this and you think they would actually have him arrested then nothing will probably happen. If they are against this and they can prove that he is taking advantage of you because of his age then you could have problems.

no it aint at the age of 16 they dont do much if you both consent to having sex . my daughter is 17 with a baby and her b/f is 20 now, no i dont agree with it but there aint nothing i can do at the same time! good luck and just remember try being a teen it aint no fun when you have to grow up early! good luck
