It depends on what you were doing when you were alive. When you die, your spirit goes to one of the two places - hell and heaven, which are more real than this physical world. Your spirit is more sensitive than your physical body - so depending on where you lend, your feeling will be accordingly.

In hell, there are worms that never die and fire that is never quenched (or put out). These two and others will be attacking your body day and night for all eternity. In other words you will be eaten by worms and consumed by fire forever - but you will feel more pain than you would normally feel in your physical body and you won't get used to it.

In heaven, there is peace, happiness, joy unspeakable etc. On this earth now - there is just a taste of what heaven will be like for those who have the Holy Spirit. For the Spirit of God does bring those realities of heaven to the believers - but not as abundant as their in heaven. Heaven will be a wonderful place! I can't wait.

So, it is either your spirit will feel and see those worms eating you and that fire burning you or you will feel be in heaven - in eternal state of happiness and joy unspeakable. The decision is yours! I think you know what to do.

Well, nothing like bringing up a question as old as humanity...

Nothing any of us say on here will prove anything because it is a situation where once you know the answer you are beyond the point where you can tell anyone and we have no adequate way t measure it empirically.

Near death experiences are not sufficient because there is plenty of reason to attribute any feelings to the changes in the body that are related to dying or coming very close to it, such as oxygen deprivation in the brain which produces precisely the same feelings.

So really, all the fighting about religion and such makes no sense because none of us will know for sure until it is too late for it to matter.

i think of that's one element that's extra handy to have faith now during this technological age than interior the previous. we are familiar with having song, action pictures, pictures saved on one gadget eg an ipod. we are able to upload this counsel to a working laptop or laptop, or to "the cloud", and then sometime interior the destiny we are able to acquire it to a distinctive gadget. that's purely counsel - it could exist in lots of varieties and be saved in all varieties of techniques. what's our soul? recommendations, judgements, values, ideals, attitudes... all that's counsel. that's ordinary to think of God as something like a brilliant recommendations with limitless cupboard area - he ought to definitely upload all of the counsel that makes up "me" to his recommendations as quickly as I die, then acquire it back to new hardware sometime interior the destiny. (possibly he backs us up each nighttime). no count if we've understanding at the same time as we are in storage i do no longer understand.

If my OBE was an example, I felt a painful longing to be with my children.

I almost died having my second child. It was a horrifying experience.
